Livestock Competitor Essentials

Thank you for entering the Brecknockshire Agricultural Society Brecon County Show - 1st August 2026.

The following information is important to review BEFORE you arrive on the showgrounds. Please ensure you have all neccessary documentation available. 

Entry To Showgrounds on Showday

Livestock Passes - Please ensure that you have your digital passes with you on Show Day as no excuse can be accepted by the gate attendants and no refunds will be made.
Your digital Livestock Passes have been emailed to you on Monday 27th July 2026, to the account email from which you entered through. Passes can be scanned on your phone or in printed format. 1 Ticket permits one entry per person, with tickets allocated on the basis of total number of entries rules set out by the Brecon County Show. 

Please allow plenty of time to enter the Showground and possible traffic delays
Please notify the Chief Steward if for some reason you are unable to attend or are unavoidably delayed to prevent any class holdups.

Livestock Entry Gate is open from 7:00am for Exhibitors and 8:00am for the general public.

Show Day Grand Parade: 2:30 pm, Main Ring
All exhibitors are welcome to take part in the Grand Parade - Those participating will receive entry to a Prize Draw to win £100 cash.

Note: Classes may be amalgamated and/or divided at the discretion of the Stewards.

Horse Exhibitors

  • Horse Passports - Please ensure that you have your horse passport available for inspection should you be asked to show it by any official on the showground.
  • Hard Hats - Any person riding a horse anywhere on the showground is required to wear a hard hat of a standard approved by their appropriate governing body and ensure that the chin strap is fastened.
  • Horses must remain in the horse section, horse walks and judging areas only.

Equine Judging Times - Horses should be ready for judging at 9.00 am sharp so please arrive at the showground in plenty of time gate is open from 7.00am for exhibitors and 8.00am for the general public.

Cattle Exhibitors

  • Cattle Passports - Exhibitors must bring the relevant cattle passports to the show for all cattle as details will be taken from every passport. Biosecurity Officers will be inspecting passports on arrival prior to unloading of any animals.
  • Please ensure you have all your documentation available upon arrival at the showground.
  • Bovine TB - The requirement for Pre-Movement Testing of cattle moving to a Show. Please note that Brecon County Show have applied for the  exemption from pre-movement TB testing for cattle entries from annually tested herds.

Cattle Judging Times - Horses should be ready for judging at 9.00 am sharp so please arrive at the showground in plenty of time. The gate is open from 7.00am for exhibitors and 8.00am for the general public.

Sheep & Goat Exhibitors

  • Movement Forms - Sheep & Goat Exhibitors are asked to complete AMLl forms for  both on and off movements. Biosecurity Officers will be checking these upon arrival on the showground.
  • If exhibitors wish to submit their movements electronically then please state this at the top of the movement form as paper movement forms will be sent to the appropriate agency (EID Cymru/ ARAMS).
  • Maedi Visna Accredited Sheep
    • Sheep will only be allowed into the Maedi Visna Accredited Section of the show on production of a VALID certificate of accreditation, which must be presented to the Biosecurity Officers on entering the showground.
    • Exhibitors should ensure that all sheep entered are noted and that the certificate is within the expiry date.

Sheep Judging Times - Sheep should be ready for judging at 9.30 am sharp so please arrive at the showground in plenty of time
